Description
Tempranillo is grown around the world, but almost all of it is grown in its native Spain. It ripens a bit earlier than other varietals (the Spanish word “temprano” translates to “early”), and its thick skin helps to protect it from the elements when grown at higher elevations. Our 2019 vintage from Sirenia comes from 30-year-old vines planted in limestone and clay soils, 2,500 feet above sea level. Harvested during the chilly Spanish night, this wine benefited from a favorable harvest season, with generous fruit character and smooth, round tannins. With notes of baking spice, clove, and espresso, this warm and rich offering will pair well with many dishes. If a trip to the stunning Spanish countryside isn’t in the offing, we’ve got you covered with this gorgeous Tempranillo. Enjoy with tapas at your next dinner party or over a savory meal.
