Still Austin Tanager First Edition is a 106 Proof (53.0% ABV) landmark, small-batch cigar blend bourbon produced at the Still Austin Whiskey Co. distillery. As the inaugural “First Edition” release in the Tanager series, this innovative, grain-to-glass expression utilizes the Petites Eaux (small waters) technique to achieve a specific depth without secondary finishing. Maturation occurred over at least 5 years in new American oak barrels within the distillery’s Austin-based urban rickhouses.

The extreme Texas climate drove intense wood interaction, concentrating the heirloom grain sugars into a dense, high-viscosity spirit specifically engineered to pair with premium tobacco. Technical specs highlight a concentrated profile of sweet pipe tobacco and marzipan, balanced by the floral notes of red corn and a lingering finish of dark chocolate and cedar. This historic first release represents a new benchmark for the distillery’s blending program.
