Description
La Lleona by Tanca Els Ulls is an organic orange wine from Tarragona, Catalonia, crafted from 100% Cartoixà de Marina (also known as Xarel·lo Vermell). The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard adjacent to the Gaià River, characterized by limestone and alluvial soils with pebbles. The proximity to the Mediterranean Sea imparts a cooling influence, preserving the grapes’ acidity. After hand-harvesting, the grapes undergo a six-day skin maceration in stainless steel tanks, followed by pressing and four months of aging on fine lees. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulfur added.
