Description
There’s an old adage that the best time to plant a tree was ten years ago and that the next-best time to plant a tree is right now. Ten Year Tree wines are all about growing the next generation of winemakers and wine lovers through the enjoyment of high-quality wine. This is a wine that shows beautiful notes of blue fruit that dance elegantly around the glass. The mouth feels round and has a meaty bite, but there is a beautiful floral note that teases its way out in the smooth and velvety finish. We think that this is the perfect wine to pair with meats fresh off the grill or even with hearty soups. Judges love this wine too! At the 2019 Texas International Wine Competition, it took home a Double Gold medal!
The winery responsible for making this wine is Babylon’s Peak, which is nestled on the slopes of the Paardeberg Mountains. It’s a family-run cellar currently in its fourth generation. Winemaker Stephen Basson uses his upbringing at the vineyard to drive his winemaking process and focuses on making wines that truly represent the terroir of South African soils.
