Tequila Ocho La Mula is an 80 Proof (40.0% ABV) prestigious, single-estate extra añejo produced at the Tequilera Los Alambiques distillery (NOM 1474). This high-intensity, vintage-dated expression is distilled from 100% blue Weber agave harvested from the La Mula ranch, a high-altitude plot sitting at 6,800 feet with red volcanic soil. Maturation occurred for exactly 3 years in “exhausted” American whiskey barrels, a technical choice designed to ensure the oak “kisses” the spirit without overwhelming the underlying agave terroir.

The harsh highland climate of Arandas facilitated a refined oxidation process, resulting in a dense, high-viscosity spirit with remarkable clarity. Technical specs highlight a concentrated profile of cooked agave and cracked black pepper, balanced by a silky mouthfeel and a lingering finish of toasted almond, anise, and cocoa. This 2021 release is widely recognized as a benchmark for terroir-pure extra-aged tequila.
