Tesla Espadin Bicuishe is an 86 Proof (43.0% ABV) high-intensity, artisanal Joven mezcal produced in the San Dionisio Ocotepec region of Oaxaca. This complex, limited-edition expression is crafted from an ensemble of Espadín (A. angustifolia) and wild-harvested Bicuishe (A. karwinskii) agaves. The hearts are slow-roasted in traditional stone pit ovens before being crushed by a horse-drawn tahona mill. Fermentation occurs naturally in open-air pine vats using native wild yeasts, followed by double-distillation in copper alembic stills.
Technical specs highlight a profile shaped by the wild Bicuishe’s herbal character, yielding a dense, high-viscosity spirit despite the lower bottling proof. The profile features a deep citrus and green apple nose that transitions into a palate of roasted herbs and warm smoke, balanced by the earthy mineral notes of the Oaxacan terroir.
