Thirteenth Colony 113 Maple Wood Spirals is a 113 Proof (56.5% ABV) explosive, limited-release straight rye whiskey produced at the Thirteenth Colony Distillery. This innovative, small-batch expression is distilled from a traditional mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, emphasizing a high-octane, spicy profile. Maturation occurred for 5 to 6 years in new, charred American oak barrels within the South Georgia climate, where extreme temperature swings drove intense wood interaction.

The spirit underwent a unique secondary maturation using toasted maple wood spirals inserted directly into the barrels to maximize surface area contact. Technical specs highlight a dense, high-viscosity spirit with a concentrated profile of baked raisins and toasted pecan, balanced by the sharp herbal bite of rye and a lingering finish of bittersweet dark chocolate and savory clove. This February 2026 debut represents the distillery’s first rye-based expansion of their successful 113 maple-finished series.
