Description
Wine has been made on the Italian peninsula for millennia. You could almost say that winemaking is in the blood or collective consciousness of the people. This wine comes from Puglia, which is not only home to some of the country’s oldest vineyards, it is also the heart of Italian agriculture, growing over half of the olives that form the backbone of Italian cooking. Producing wine for more than 2,000 years, nearly every varietal thrives in Puglia’s warm growing conditions along the Adriatic Sea. This wine, in particular, is an exuberant red with notes of red cherry, black raspberry, and hints of oregano. We’d pair this for an even better experience with the wine. Try it with roasted pork, lasagna, or a Porchetta sandwich. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal at the 2020 Winemaker Challenge and at the 2019 Sommelier Challenge.
