Description
The terroir in the Columbia Valley in Washington State is exceptionally different than that of the reputation the Pacific Northwest boasts. Tucked in the central part of the state, the appellation covers over 11 million acres and lies in the rain shadow of the Cascade Mountains, which makes the climate almost desert-like. With long dry days and cooler evenings, the growing season is relatively long and experiences minimal rainfall. Some fruit would quickly take a turn for the worst in this kind of environment, but varietals used in our Watchful Maker blend have tough skins, require little supervision, and thrive in the heat. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and a touch of Merlot. Inky, dark in color, and full-bodied, this wine has rich dark fruit flavors and woodsy characteristics that come out thanks to oak aging. A juicy and soft tannic boost on the mid-palate thanks to the Malbec lengthens each sip and makes flavors linger. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.
