Description
Washington is no stranger to the wonders of the sea. In addition to being one of the world’s most scenic and biologically rich inland seas, making it a prime place for whale watching, the Salish Sea plays a key role in the complex geological history of the region. Vineyards here span a vast array of soil types, which results in diverse wine styles. Our Whale Light Chardonnay captures the complexity and character of this region through its layers of citrus and caramelized stone-fruit flavors. Chardonnay thrives in a variety of soil types and will reflect an array of flavors dependent on ripeness. In the warm climate of Washington’s premier grape-growing regions, this fruit enjoyed long daylight hours throughout the season. This allowed for the development of ripe fruit flavors and a rich, opulent body. A bit of sweetness is brought forth by the winemaker’s skilled use of oak, resulting in a delectable wine that is made to be savored.
