Description
Yann Bertrand’s Beaujolais Lantignié is a natural wine crafted from 100% Gamay, sourced from a single hectare of 15-year-old vines located in Lantignié, a village neighboring the more well-known crus of Beaujolais. The vines are planted on granite soils at an elevation of 500 meters, contributing to the wine’s characteristic freshness and minerality. Bertrand farms these vineyards organically and biodynamically, a hallmark of his winemaking philosophy, which emphasizes respect for the land and the natural processes of viticulture.
The wine is produced using semi-carbonic maceration, a traditional method in Beaujolais that enhances the fruitiness of Gamay while maintaining a light, vibrant profile. The 2023 vintage was aged for around eight months, with 80% of the wine maturing in neutral barrels and the remaining 20% in stainless steel tanks. This approach allows the wine to retain its bright fruit character while developing structure and complexity.
