Description
YoYo La Negra is a natural red wine made from 85% Carignan and 15% Grenache (Blanc, Gris, and Noir) grown in the Albères foothills near Banyuls, Languedoc-Roussillon, France. Winemaker Laurence Manya Krief produces this wine from 80-85 year-old vines planted on granitic sandy soils overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo semi-carbonic maceration for 12-15 days with indigenous yeasts. The wine ages for three months in used French oak barrels, mostly from Burgundy, and is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur addition.
