Description
The 2020 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition pronounced this vintage’s Chenin Blanc from Clarksburg a winner, of 94 points and a platinum medal. No two Californian wines are alike. Mountain ranges that snake up and down the state along with coastal influence make the regions that grow grapes incredibly diverse. The relatively unknown region of Clarksburg is a perfect example of this unique diversity – nestled close to Sacramento and Solano Counties which are typically hot and dry, Clarksburg receives maritime influenced fog from the San Francisco Bay, keeping the area much cooler than its neighboring regions. This Chenin Blanc was aged through barrel fermentation and features nutty and vanilla aromas on the nose. A creamy texture is balanced by refreshing acidity from a bit of Sauvignon Blanc blended in. Ripe fruit flavors making this full-bodied wine ideal for sipping any day the week.
