Named after Pozzan’s grandmother Annabella, this rich, refined Chardonnay exemplifies the warmth of both the Napa Valley sunshine and its graceful, spirited namesake. Bright sun plus rocky soils produce a Chardonnay wine that is luscious and complex, with ripe tropical fruit flavors like pineapple and honeydew melon. The early harvest in 2014, hand-picked at its peak, resulted in healthy, high-quality fruit with good acidity—perfect for creating a structured and balanced wine. Aged for 10 months in a combination of French oak barrels and stainless steel, the winemaker utilized two distinct aging processes to tease out distinct flavors from the grapes before combining them into a harmonious and complete wine. The portion matured in oak develops notes of cinnamon and butterscotch while the balance reserved in steel retains its bright, zesty acidity with aromas of citrus blossom and tangerines.
