Following a primary maturation of 5 to 7 years in new charred white oak barrels inside heat-cycled brick warehouses, the spirit undergoes a prolonged secondary finishing. While standard Double Oaked finishes for a single year, this liquid remains in the separate, heavily toasted and flash-charred secondary barrel for a full 24 months. This extra year of extraction isolates heavy, dry wood tannins, clove, bitter baking chocolate, and concentrated maple syrup.
