Description
Woodford Reserve Very Fine Rare Bourbon is a 90.4 Proof (45.2% ABV) release from the 2020 Master’s Collection, notable for including some of the oldest whiskey ever bottled by the distillery. Produced at the Woodford Reserve Distillery, this expression utilizes the standard 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mash bill.
The technical framework is defined by a blend of stocks including barrels aged up to 17 years, matured in new American white oak with a proprietary toast and char profile. These barrels were housed in historic stone warehouses where natural humidity levels influenced a refined, slow extraction of tannins. The resulting profile is exceptionally nuanced, featuring a nose of oak spice and dried citrus, a palate of dark chocolate and caramel, and a long, silk-textured finish of malty sweetness and old wood.
