Master Distiller Fred Noe selected the batch from across three different rack-houses, aged 6 years, 4 months and 12 days. As the third batch in the Booker’s 2018 collection, this release pays tribute to Booker’s signature way of tasting bourbon. “To get a good ‘Kentucky Chew, Dad would take a sip of bourbon, work it around his mouth and then smack his lips a few times like he was chewing on the whiskey”.
Per Fred Noe’s notes, on the nose, it shows sweet with hints of dried fruit and characteristic Booker’s vanilla. The palate brings unmistakably Booker’s, robust profile, intense at first, deep and complex flavors of vanilla, nuts and oak, robust vanilla and caramel, slightly smoky, and the finish carries sweet, medium-bodied. The pour shows Booker’s darkest, deepest amber and henna color.
A 2018 Booker’s release, this named batch is closely tracked by collectors building a complete Booker’s run. Bottled at full barrel strength with no chill filtration, it rewards a few drops of water and drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
