Description
Booker’s Granny’s Batch 6 Year is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Released as Batch 2020-01 and bottled at 126.4 proof, this uncut, unfiltered Booker’s release is part of the named-batch series Master Distiller Fred Noe oversees.
Master Distiller Fred Noe selected the batch from across different rack-houses, aged 6 years, 4 months and 21 days. Marking the first release in the Booker’s Bourbon 2020 Collection, Fred Noe named this batch after his grandmother, Granny Noe (Margaret), who was the youngest of Jim Beam’s children.
Per Fred Noe’s notes, on the nose, it shows spice and hints of vanilla. The palate brings deep and complex, vanilla, nuts and oak, robust vanilla and caramel, slightly smoky, and the finish carries a long and full character built for easygoing sipping. The pour shows Booker’s darkest, deepest amber and henna color.
A 2020 Booker’s release, this named batch is closely tracked by collectors building a complete Booker’s run. Bottled at full barrel strength with no chill filtration, it rewards a few drops of water and drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
