A blend of 60% Grenache and 20% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2017 Cairanne Haut Coustias comes across as just a bit more open-knit than the single-vineyard les Douyes, but it boasts similar (if more subdued) notes of licorice, plums and black cherries.
