Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d’Abruzzo 2021 comes from vineyards in Torano Nuovo, in the northern province of Teramo, where clay soils over solid limestone create ideal conditions for this indigenous variety. The grapes are foot-trodden in wooden tubs—a technique that avoids iron contact with the fruit’s acids while achieving subtle skin maceration for textural complexity. Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d’Abruzzo 2021 ferments spontaneously with native yeasts and ages 18-24 months in glass-lined cement tanks. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, this biodynamic wine (certified since 2006) demonstrates the aging potential that Emidio Pepe has championed since 1964.
