Description
Gut Oggau Bertholdi Rot 2022 is the flagship red cuvée from Eduard and Stephanie Tscheppe’s biodynamic estate in Burgenland, Austria. This 100% Blaufränkisch comes from a single vineyard of 60-year-old vines planted in limestone and gravel soils. The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented spontaneously in large old oak vats before being pressed using the estate’s restored 200-year-old vertical screw press. Gut Oggau Bertholdi Rot 2022 ages for two years in used 500-liter barrels. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no sulfur added. Produced in tiny quantities.
