Hardin’s Creek Frankfort is a highly allocated, 110 Proof (55% ABV) ultra-rare Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey released in August 2023 as the second installment of the “Kentucky Series.” This technical expression was distilled at the James B. Beam facility in Clermont and aged for 17 years at the Frankfort (Old Grand-Dad) campus. The series was engineered as a “terroir” experiment, exploring how the specific microclimate of the Frankfort rackhouses, characterized by their proximity to the Kentucky River, influenced the chemical development of the spirit.
Produced by the James B. Beam Distilling Co., this release utilizes a mash bill of 77% corn, 13% rye, and 10% malted barley. The Frankfort campus features high-density rackhouses with a cooler, more humid environment compared to other sites, resulting in a slower maturation process and a distinct ester profile. The technical maturation at this site produced a whiskey defined by delicate floral notes, sweet citrus, and integrated oak tannins, offering a more refined and elegant structure than the Clermont or Boston editions.
