Description
For four generations, Il Falchetto winery has been the passion project of the famed Forno family. Specializing particularly in Barbera d’Asti grapes, grown only in the hilly Asti provinces of Northern Italy, Il Falchetto has combined decades of family secrets with Northern Italian tradition to produce wines of exceptional and robust flavor. Since it began production in 1998, the Pian Scorrone vineyard, in particular, has won a reputation of its own for wines that not only exemplify the excellence of Il Falchetto, but also capture the unique and distinctive flavors of the region.
Aged for six months in steel vats, the Il Falchetto Pian Scorrone Barbera d’Asti 2013 expresses fruitfulness on the nose and palate. The experience is dominated by a sense of freshness, supplemented by an excellent structure and softness that make the drinking experience a true delight. The lovely fruitiness and freshness make this a perfect wine for nights out, or for serving alongside hors d’oeuvres.
