Description
Stefano Legnani Ponte di Toi represents the pure expression of Vermentino from the Badia hamlet in Sarzana, eastern Liguria, near the Tuscan border. This orange wine emerges from a single hectare of young vines (under 10 years old) farmed organically without synthetic products, using only copper and sulfur treatments alongside green manure and mulching. The grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by 4-5 days of skin maceration that imparts the characteristic orange hue. After fermentation, the wine ages in stainless steel before bottling in June following harvest. Unfiltered and unfined with limited sulfites, embodying natural winemaking principles from this former Bologna insurance agent turned cult vigneron.
