This 2020 release is a high-age statement expression adhering to the rigorous Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, requiring the spirit to be the product of one distilling season and aged in a federally bonded warehouse. Utilizing the distillery’s 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley mash bill, these specific barrels were matured for 17 years within the high-altitude environment of Rickhouse North.
The extended interaction with heavy #4 alligator char oak at this elevation resulted in a concentrated, oily texture. The profile is characterized by a dense delivery of dark chocolate, toasted marshmallow, and singed orange peel that transitions into a long finish of old leather, tobacco, and seasoned oak.
