Description
About This Wine
Imagine a young critic tasting California for the first time and realizing — suddenly — that greatness doesn’t always come from a château, but sometimes from a restless winemaker chasing perfection across vineyards. That is the spirit of Leviathan.
Created by legendary winemaker Andy Erickson (Screaming Eagle, Harlan, and other Napa icons on the résumé), Leviathan is not tied to one estate — it is tied to an idea: blending the finest barrels he encounters across Napa Valley and beyond into a single, harmonious expression. The result is a wine of remarkable authority and polish. Layers of blackberry, crushed plum and cassis unfold into graphite, cocoa nib and warm spice, carried by firm yet civilized tannins and a long, echoing finish.
This is not a simple “red blend.” It drinks like a classified-growth philosophy applied to California — power restrained by balance, richness guided by precision. A wine that overdelivers with almost shocking conviction, and one that leaves you with the same conclusion a certain famous critic often reached: sometimes the discovery itself is the most memorable part of the bottle.
