Description
Swartland is somewhat lesser known than neighboring areas in South Africa, but some of the most stunning wines coming out of the country are from this region. Nestled in the mountains and valleys about 40 miles north of Cape Town, Swartland is traditionally known as an area that produces wheat. Vineyards in the region specialize in fruit-driven wines, and this beautiful Chardonnay is no different. Grapes underwent a cool fermentation and the juice was left on the lees until a few months before bottling which allowed both highly concentrated flavors and a varietal signature roundness to develop. Bright fruit flavors lead to a lingering finish. Perfect for drinking on a sunny afternoon.
